Privacy Policy

The short version

DayBorder has no account and keeps everything it computes on your device. The app sends nothing about your days, countries or photos anywhere. The only data that leaves the device are your app store's own purchase flow and anonymous usage statistics (described below).

Photos

With your permission, DayBorder reads only the date and the place tag (EXIF metadata) stored next to each photo in your library. It does this to work out which country you were in on each day.

Location

DayBorder has no live location access of any kind. It does not request GPS permission and does not track you in the background.

Imported files

If you import a location history export (for example from Google Takeout), the file is read and parsed on your device. Only country-per-day results are kept; the file itself and its coordinates are discarded.

Network

The app connects to Apple's App Store or Google Play for the subscription — purchases are handled entirely by your store and DayBorder never sees your payment details — and to the usage-statistics service described below. Nothing else.

Usage statistics (Firebase Analytics)

To understand how many people use DayBorder and keep it working well, the app uses Google Firebase Analytics. It reports aggregate usage events — app opened, session length, device model, OS version, country-level region, and a random app-instance identifier. It is configured without advertising identifiers and is not used for ads.

Support messages

If you send a message through the in-app support form (Settings → Contact us), the text you typed — and your reply e-mail address, if you chose to provide one — is stored in Google Firebase so we can read and answer it. Nothing is attached automatically beyond your platform (iOS or Android) and app language. Sending is always an explicit action; write to us via the form if you want a message deleted.

Data sharing

We do not sell data. Beyond the aggregate usage statistics above, there is nothing to share or transfer.

Children

DayBorder is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated date.
